Glint Wein – it is very tasty hot alcohol drink, which is based on red wine, heated to 70-80 ° C with sugar and spices. It is traditionally consumed in Switzerland, Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic during the mass Christmas Celebrations.
The first recipes, that were similar to mulled wine drinks, were mentioned in ancient Rome. Wine was mixed with spices, but it was not heated. It was only during the Middle Ages in Europe there was a real hot mulled wine. The drink was prepared on the basis of Claret or Bordeaux with galangal herbs.
